ABOUT SETPLC

SET Plc (formerly National Sports Lottery) was incorporated in 2001 and was granted an exclusive lottery license by the Federal Government to operate the National Lottery in Nigeria. The operation of the National Lottery is governed by the National Lotteries Act, enacted in 2005 and amended in 2017. Our operating license was renewed in 2020 for an additional ten years.

SET Plc is a technology-focused organization with core competencies in the provision of infrastructure and technical expertise in the following areas: lottery and gaming, trivia promotion syndication, and the provision of a central database for data and information processing.

As a pioneer in Nigeria’s lottery industry, we played a foundational role in shaping the market—legislatively, technologically, and commercially. We take pride in having single-handedly eradicated paper-based lottery systems in Nigeria, transitioning the industry to a fully electronic model.

In 2008, SET Plc launched an Initial Public Offering and became a public liability company. To date, we remain the only lottery company in Nigeria listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
